My poetry explores the themes of love and loss, capturing the world's beauty and its ugliness. Inspired by nature and human connections, I seek to reflect the raw and often unspoken aspects of life. I hope my work resonates with readers, inviting them to see themselves and the world more deeply. Through my writing, I aim to create a space for reflection, celebrating the complexities of existence and our shared humanity.
Syahla Salsabila was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. Having always been fascinated by the experimental structure of contemporary poetry, she started writing her own poems when she was twelve, dreaming to one day publish a poetry book of her own. She spent her university years in Japan and now works in Bali as a preschool teacher. Inspired by the extraordinary connections she has made throughout her experience as well as the stunning nature of the Bali island, she has written two books that she is hoping to publish, The Sunrise Knows Your Name and Ocean Moondance - the themes of which revolve around love and loss as two forces that cannot live without the other.
