Artist Statement

Devi interplays color and patterns, drawing inspiration from the vivid realms of pop art, contemporary art, and expressionism. Her work is a vibrant exploration of hues and patterns, where each painting serves as a canvas for her personal journey. Through her dynamic use of color and abstract forms, Devi reflects on her experiences, travels, and the moments that shape her life. Her art is both a reflection of her inner world and a vivid commentary on her external experiences.

Artist Biography

Devi is a passionate art teacher who brings her love for creativity and self-expression into the classroom every day. Born in Sumatera and now residing in Bali, Devi has dedicated herself to the world of art both professionally and personally. Her journey in painting began as a self-taught artist, where she embraced the challenges and joys of learning independently.

In her artistic practice, Devi is committed to exploring and experimenting with colors, lines, and strokes.

Outside of teaching, Devi devotes her free time to creating her own artwork, continually experimenting with new techniques and ideas. Her vibrant paintings reflect her deep connection to her craft and her enthusiasm for the artistic process.

70cm x 50cm"Blooming" blends sculpture and painting in a unique way. Handmade clay flowers are attached to the canvas, adding a three-dimensional touch to the artwork. The piece features three figures, artist called it creatures, _artist and her siblings- celebrating their personal journeys. one is nervous about the future, while another is more relaxed. These emotions reflect the various new beginnings they have faced this year. yet all are grateful with what is happening, all have their own blooming time.
