Artist Statement

Through Bernaung, In Pairs, and Peluk, I want to share my personal journey with you—my struggles, thoughts, memories, and experiences through simple, honest art.

Bernaung is all about my search for a place where I truly belong, a spot where I can feel safe and at peace in this hectic world. It's about finding a space where I can be myself without worrying about being judged.

In Pairs looks at relationships and how we connect with others. It explores the ups and downs of being close to someone and the beauty and challenges that come with it.

Peluk is a big, warm hug to my past, present, and future. It's a story of learning to accept and love myself, celebrating everything that has made me who I am today. Through this series, I open up about my weaknesses and strengths, showing how pain and happiness often go hand in hand.

My art is a way of showing the strength of the human spirit, capturing the small yet powerful moments that make up our lives. By keeping things simple, I hope to create a space where you can see your own experiences and feelings reflected, finding a sense of connection and understanding. Through these pieces, I want to encourage everyone to embrace their own stories with kindness and bravery.

Being queer often means dealing with conflicting beliefs and inner battles. I've faced those struggles too. Reflecting on my journey, I've found that my spiritual path and sexual orientation are separate yet sometimes intertwined parts of who I am. this piece was also chosed and displayed at the UN Office in Geneva.
