Artist Statement

Ketertarikan saya yang mendalam pada aliran Kubisme menjadi landasan utama dalam penciptaan karya-karya lukis saya. Saya terinspirasi dari pelukis picasso dalam membuat karya-karya saya, dan saya juga, berharap penikmat atau pecinta seni untuk dapat menikmati karya-karya saya.

My deep interest in the Cubist movement serves as the primary foundation for the creation of my paintings. I draw inspiration from the works of Picasso, whose innovative approach continues to influence my artistic expression. Through my work, I hope to offer viewers and art enthusiasts a meaningful visual experience and invite them to engage with the unique language of form and perspective that defines my style.

Artist Biography

Lahir di Mas, Ubud, pada tanggal 10 Juli 1973, seni telah menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari lingkungan tumbuh kembang seniman ini. Dibesarkan di tengah-tengah para pembuat patung, ia akrab dengan dunia seni rupa sejak dini. Setelah menamatkan Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA), hobi melukisnya menemukan jalannya ketika seorang teman mengajaknya untuk bergabung dengan Sekolah Tinggi Seni Indonesia (STSI) pada tahun 1993.

Di STSI, ia memfokuskan diri pada seni lukis. Namun, perjalanan studinya tidak sampai selesai, dan pada tahun 1996 ia kembali menekuni pembuatan patung. Setelah tahun 2000, kecintaannya pada seni lukis kembali membara, dan sejak saat itu hingga kini, ia kembali fokus menciptakan karya-karya lukis. Perjalanan artistiknya yang unik ini mencerminkan eksplorasi berbagai medium ekspresi kreatif.

Born in Mas, Ubud, on July 10, 1973, art has always been an inseparable part of this artist’s upbringing. Raised among sculptors, he was immersed in the world of visual art from an early age. After completing high school, his passion for painting found a new direction when a friend encouraged him to enroll at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (STSI) in 1993.

At STSI, he focused on painting as his primary discipline. However, his studies were not completed, and in 1996 he returned to sculpture—an art form deeply rooted in his background. After the year 2000, his love for painting reignited, and since then he has fully dedicated himself to creating paintings once more.

His artistic journey reflects a dynamic exploration of different creative media, shaped by both his early sculptural environment and his later immersion in the world of painting.
