Artist Statement

These hands are conduits of my mind, whispering the silent language of my heart. I paint because it frees me from the confines of thought. With each brushstroke and pencil line, a story emerges—one that only eyes can unravel and hearts can absorb. I surrender to the mystery of your gaze, hoping that my work stirs something profound within you, beyond mere curiosity, touching the depths of your being.

Artist Biography

I grew up in Bali with a passion for arts. I'm 18 with the goal to to study art in France. I love working with oil paints, watercolour, pencil and ink. Often my works are realistic but abstract having a certain aesthetic that I want to achieve. I also sculpt with clay, starting to experiment with digital mediums. I want to borden my skill, ideas and knowledge for my upcoming artworks.

1mx1mAn island unique from the rest of Indonesia, Bali should be preserved. A life as a Bali dog presents a lot of what Bali is known for: their enriched culture and religion, their respect and love for nature, and their pure and gratified lifestyles. The black dog dominating the canvas symbolizes the reincarnation of the Lord who destroys or who is beyond fear. He protects his devotees from anger, fear, and lust. This shows why balinese people say that black dogs are the most special kind, and how they are the strongest guardians for our homes. The vivid ocean represents the building blocks of life and fullness, and where stray dogs live to have a content life. The sarong, nicley tucked under the dog, signifies the sign of respect. The rice paddies reflect on how the Balinese views rice as a gift from god.These elements all connect to the lives and characteristics of Balinese dogs.

40cm in diameter per circle Covid gave me the time to leave myself in my own bedroom full of me. What better way to spend the time with a group of your own? A group of people you don't even like. Why don't I enjoy the presence of myself? The reflection of my sorriness? It got numb to the point where the world was moving on except for me. I peeled the oil off my skin and faced it.
