Artist Statement

My art is meant to disturb and unsettle, pulling you into the shadows while others seek the light. Each piece is a visceral testament to the fragility and brutality of existence, painted with the symbol of pain itself, blood. The blood is not just pigments, they are myself, my expression, raw and unapologetic.

My work is a dialogue between life and death, challenging you to confront your deepest fears and darkest thoughts. Welcome to a realm where beauty is found in the darkest place and comfort is but a distant memory.

Artist Biography

My name is Ram, known as Papa Asmodeus. I use human blood for my paintings, mostly my own. Born and raised in Surabaya, my style is rooted in classic realism, inspired by masters like Jan Van Eyck, Peter Paul Rubens, Caravaggio, Gustave Doré, and Francisco de Goya.

Most of my subjects are into demonology, mythology, and Human torture and death. I also practice taxidermy, preserving life through the stillness of death. My work invites viewers to explore the darkest facets of existence, blending the macabre with classical beauty.

The pain courses through my veins like fire, consuming me from the inside out. But you don't stop there, do you? No, you take pleasure in pushing me to my limits, testing just how much agony I can withstand..I scream and beg for mercy, but you only laugh in response. You enjoy seeing me broken and defeated, don't you? It satisfies some sick desire deep within your depraved souls..So go ahead, continue your relentless torture, for I have already made my peace with the darkness.Until I'm running out of tears, running out of blood, running out of life.

Infamously remembered for her brutal and sadistic acts, she is said to have tortured and murdered hundreds of young girls. Bathory believed that bathing in their blood would preserve her youth and beauty.Living in the Csejte Castle, her reign of terror lasted until her arrest in 1610. Despite her noble status, she was tried and found guilty, spending her final years imprisoned until her death in 1614. Elizabeth Bathory remains one of history’s most notorious figures, embodying the terrifying blend of power, cruelty, and legend.
